Fella Sings Ella at Balingup Heights – Saturday 13th March – 6.30pm to 7.45pm
Limited tickets available – only $25
Join us for a unique concert under the stars. Straight from the 2021 Perth Fringe Festival, Tim Parish will perform a scintillating repertoire from the Queen of Jazz, Ella Fitzgerald.
Starting with her first hit “A Tisket, A Tasket”, you, the audience, select the songs from Ella’s “Little Yellow Basket” on the night, so you never know what song comes next!
The concert will be held ‘under the stars’ in front of Blythe Cottage balcony. Seating is provided. Balingup Heights is a rustic, bushland setting and sensible footwear is recommended. We also suggest bringing a coat and rug for the cooler evenings.
You’re welcome to BYO picnic and enjoy sunset at the Balingup Heights Lookout from 5pm. Refreshments are not available at the concert venue.
Join Tim in front of Blythe Cottage, for a fabulous night of music and a glimpse at the life of Lady Ella.
With a voice like rich Spanish chocolate on an Autumn day and a life of jazz, Tim Parish is as comfortable singing soulful jazz ballads as he is playing with the most light and frothy tunes from the golden era of swing. A lifetime of experience with music pouring from records of the 30s and 40s has given him an innate understanding of the jazz/swing mood.
Having had the extraordinary opportunity to train and perform with the fabulous Libby Hammer, Tim Parish knows well how to generate those notes that turn a tune into magic and create that frisson that will make you pause in the midst of your conversation, hesitate in the midst of the sip of your martini and take you back to the great days of the jazz era, suspended for a delicious moment wrapped in the warmth of the music he makes.
